ASU Womens Tourney Preview
The ASU women basketball team recieved a #3 seed in the tournament which set them up to play Big West Conference champion UC Riverside. They will play at USC's new Galen Center in LA. The game is Saturday around 7:30.
UC Riverside, home of the mighty Highlanders (there can only be one), won the Big West which included such tough teams as UC Irvine, Cal Poly and Cal State Northridge to name a few. ASU on the other hand took on teams such as Stanford and Cal which received a #2 and #8 seed respectively.
"UC Riverside runs a motion offense led by Junior F/C Kemie Nkele who averages a team-best 16.1 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.35 blocks per game. Sophomore guard Seyram Gbewonyo is second in scoring (10.2). UC Riverside lost to UCLA, a team ASU beat three times, including 74-64 in the Pac-10 Tournament."-azcentral.com
